Wein am Berg
At a glance
Wein am Berg is a wine and gourmet festival in Sölden held every year in late April over four days from Thursday to Sunday, at the end of the ski season. It is run by the Hotel Das Central in Sölden. Around thirty wineries from Austria, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal and Spain take part, along with thirteen chefs holding seven Michelin stars and twenty-two Gault&Millau toques between them. Part of the programme happens on the mountain, with tastings at 2,991 and 2,766 metres and the Big Bottle Party at Giggijoch at 2,284 metres. The 24th edition is announced for 22 to 25 April 2027. Since 2026 there is also a Summer Edition in August.
The format joins two things that rarely go together: a wine fair and a day on skis. It opens with the fair and a multi-course dinner; on the following days there is guided skiing, tastings on the glacier and lunch on the mountain. The evenings are organised as a Kitchen Party and a Big Bottle Party.
Tickets go through the organiser and are limited. We deliberately give no prices here, because they change every year.
For guests in the house the timing is practical: in late April the pistes are still open and the village is quieter, rates are lower than in midwinter, and the Giggijoch part of the programme sits on the lift that is a few minutes on foot from the house.
